If you’ve been wondering how to “fund” your Equifund account, here’s some good news; you do not need to transfer any funds into your Equifund account to invest on our platform.
During the investment process, you will be asked how you’d like to fund your investment; bank account (ACH), credit card, wire transfer, send check, or retirement account.
How to Pay with Your Bank Account (ACH)
If you choose Bank Account, you will have the option of connecting your bank account using a service called Plaid. By doing this, you will be sending funds via ACH.
This option is only available for US bank accounts.
If for any reason your bank does not use Plaid (i.e. Chase bank), please email [email protected] and we will manually set up your ACH connection using your bank account number and routing number.
Generally speaking, it takes 10 calendar days – from the receipt of funds – to clear ACH transactions; this means your investment cannot be fully executed for at least 10 calendar days after funds have been received in escrow.
How to Pay with Credit Card
If you choose Credit Card, you will have the option of entering your credit or debit card information.
At this time, our payment processing company only accepts Visa and Mastercard; American Express, Discover, and BlockFi Bitcoin Rewards cards are not accepted.
In order to use a debit card, it must be linked to a US bank account.
International credit cards are often declined by our payment processing company. For this reason, we recommend all international investors pay by wire transfer.
Generally speaking, it takes 24 hours – from the receipt of funds – to clear credit card transactions; this mean your investment cannot be fully executed for at least 24 hours after funds have been received in escrow.
How to Pay by Wire Transfer
If you select Wire Transfer, you will be provided with banking coordinates.
For all payments made by wire transfer, you must include the $24 in addition to your investment amount.
If you do not include this $24 fee, your investment amount will be reduced; if you are already investing the minimum, you must send the additional balance or your funds will be returned to you.
If you are an international investor, sometimes there are additional fee charges – without your prior knowledge – that will be deducted from your transfer amount by your bank, so please confirm with your bank if there are any additional fees that would need to be paid in order to fund your investment.
Generally speaking, it takes 24 hours – from the receipt of funds – to clear wire transfer transactions; this mean your investment cannot be fully executed for at least 24 hours after funds have been received in escrow.
How to Pay by Check
If you choose Send Check, you will be provided with a mailing address on where to send a physical check.
Please note that we will only accept funds from accounts that match your full name used during identity verification.
It takes approximately 10 calendar days – from the receipt of the check, not from when you mail it – to clear; this means your investment cannot be fully executed for at least 10 calendar days after funds have been received in escrow.
Please be aware that we do not accept checks from any non-US banking institution. If you are an international investor, please send funds by wire transfer.
